Connect up to eight ZX microdrives
to your ZX Spectrum. Each holds
up to 100k bytes on any one
microfloppy. Each can transfer
at 16k bytes per second- with an
average access time of 3.5 seconds








Rotronics Wafadrives

The
Wafadrive is a fast access storage system
using special magnetic tape drive.It enables
programs and data to be loaded into Spectrum
much more quickly and conveniently than is
possible using cassettes.Futhermore,file handling
is easily performed since the Wafadrive
locates files automatically without the operator

Sinclair Interface 1

The
 ZX interface 1 unit is attached to the rear and
base of the Spectrum. It links your Spectrum to
as many as eight Microdrives, up to 63 other
Spectrum computers and ,through its RS232
standard interface unit,a vast range of standard
peripherals Microdrives and Microdrives cartridges
replace the cassette player and tape for storing
programs and data.By inserting  Microdrives cartridges
you can save,verify and load programs in seconds.
Each  cartridge can store up to 85k of date and using
the maximum of eight  Microdrives,your Spectrum will
have up to 680k on-line storage capacity! Any program
is located automatically with a typical access time of
3.5 seconds.Using the network lead provided with
the interface unit,you can link your computer to
another one - either a ZX Spectrum or another
ZX Spectrum+.This network can then be extended to
a maximum of 63 other Spectrums.Information is
exchanged between them at a rate of 10,000
characters a second. The ZX Interface 1 unit also
includes an RS232 interface with a 9-way D socket
through whivh printers,other standard peripherals,
modems and other computers can be linked to your
Spectrum. A standard interface cable is also available.

Light Pen


The light pen is a device which will detect
the light emitted by the Televisiion screen
,and will send a signal to the Spectrum. When
used with appropriate softwrae,it can be used
 to pick items from a menu, or draw designs
on the screen. It works in the following way sine
in the TV, the display is made up of a flying spot
of light deflected across and down the screen at
very high speed, by carefully timind the receipt of
the pulse of light as the spot passes in front of
the pen, the exact position of the Light-pen can
be determined.the programs supplied with the
Light-pen use this information to calculate the
X ( horizontal ) and Y ( vertical ) co-ordinates
corresponding to the point where the pen is positioned.

Spectrum VTX 711




The combination of software and interface
which makes up the VTX 711 is the most
 powerful communications package ever
written for the spectrum range of microcomputer.
The system has been designed to complement
 the Voyager range of modems, and to be sufficently
flexible to enable the widest possible range of
applications, and yet remain simple to use.

The manual has been written in a simple manner,
 but does expect you to have a basic knowledge of
your computer, and it'soperating systems.
 Hackers and programmers will discover a
wide range of additional
 features enabling applications far beyond that of the
average user, and are invited to explore using the
pokes contained within the Appendix. We reserve
 the right to change or modify the programme without
notice, but updates will always be available either
free of charge, or at nominal cost. The Spectrum
VTX 711 interface is designed to work specifically
with the VTX 711 prestel and terminal software and
with a Voyager modem. This combination give the
Spectrum very powerful capabilities 300 baud,
1200/75, 75,1200 baud,autodial, autologon, viewdata
and terinal emulaton, file transfer, telesoftware
downloading plus many other communication
 features. The interface is designed to work with
any Spectrum 48k, Spectrum +, Spectrum 128k
computer; it willalso workwith an interface 1 or 2
connected without affecting the computers power
supply the modem has it's own mains power supply.
 As the interface does not have a through port it may
not connect directly with some printers. these
printers would require a bus extender such as
the currah nicroslot. The interface may also be
used at speeds upto 4800 for "back to back"
communications between Spectrum, etc.



Speech and Sound from your TV set 




The currah Micro Speech is an allophone speech
synthesiser, which means that it uses individual
 speech sound strung together to make intelligible
speech. This is different to some speech
synthesisers available today which have a fixed
 vocabulary; unlike these systems the MicroSpeech
 has an unlimited vocabulary and can synthesise
any word or sentence in the English language.
The user merely has to become familiar with the
speech sounds of English which are different from
letters and the allophone symbols used to represent them.
