Sam

Sam Coupe

After years of development, rumours and speculationthe SAM Coupe is finally ready for launch. The collapse of Sinclair back in 1986 indirectly brought alan miles and bruce gordon together,a union which, after developing Spectrum add-ons and the lifetime disc drive, has now resulted in the Coupe. In fact, you can consider those earlier add-ons as part of the Coupe development program as MGT learned about hardware manufacture, and Spectrum compatibility. This history gives MGT a unique perspective on the computer market and the design of the Coupe makes it easier than usual for third party developers to work on it.Only 3000 units have been produced before Christmas so you should think yourself lucky if you got hold og one of the printer-style boxes the rest of us will have to wait until the new year.Inside the box you will find the Coupe itself, the user manual, demo and utilities tape, flash the art package power supply and TV and cassette leads. The computer has 128k can display up to 128 colours, has six-channel sound, can run 48k Spectrum software and can import ST graphics and files. It was launched in UK in June 1989
